Helen has founded and run choirs since 1992. Her first was Kraterkoor in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where she lived from 1992 – 1998.  On returning to the UK she formed the community choir Shreen Harmony (Mere, Wiltshire) and later Steam Heat (Wimborne, Dorset), a sixteen piece a cappella group, as part of the Confluence Project on the river Stour with Common Ground. After ten years with Steam Heat she moved to Cornwall in 2011, and in 2013 formed the Big Jazz Choir in Calstock, a forty strong choir. The choir has recently performed at Port Eliot festival, Cornwall, and in 2016 will be performed ‘Songs From A Small Train’, a song-writing project with the choir, members of the Calstock community and refugees, at the Plymouth Barbican Theatre. The White Book of Winter will be performed in Tavistock on 10th February 2018.

Her most recent commission, “On Watching the Tide at Blaxton Quay”, for South West Chamber Choir was recently performed by Kamerkoor Collegium Utrecht, in the Netherlands.  Helen also arranges music in a variety of styles for choirs, vocal ensembles and solo voice.
